It collaborates in the Church's mission to spread the Gospel and provides academic formation for people committed to the pastoral service of the Church.About the opportunityThe Learning Support Officer plays a pivotal role within the College by helping students to develop their academic and study skills via the delivery of one-on-one tutoring, drop-in sessions, group workshops and other methods.
The role also supports all staff and students to be successful in their teaching and learning endeavours by managing access to, and navigation of, the University of Divinity Learning Management System (LMS).This is a part-time, on-site, role at 21 hours per week.
An initial 12-month fixed-term contract applies with the possibility of progression to permanent.
You choose if the hours are spread over 3 or 4 days per week.Key Responsibilities of the roleProvide academic and study skills assistance to students on support plans, as determined by the Academic Dean.Provide general academic skills development for students, including one-on-one tutoring, student drop-in sessions, group workshops and other methods that assist students to:plan their tutoring needs for individual assignments to address key requirements and satisfy learning outcomes.complete assignments that meet grammar, spelling and expression standards as per University expectations.meet the requirements of the University's Style Guide.Manage access to and navigation of the University of Divinity Learning Management system (LMS), including provision of staff and student training and ongoing support.Create regular reports to the Registrar and Academic Dean on LMS enquiries, tutorial hours and academic support activities.About youYou will have a post-secondary qualification in teaching, education, learning technologies or a related field and ideally have relevant tutoring experience in a tertiary or secondary education context.
