Aviation Screening Officer

The Aviation Screening Officer's (ASO) role performs duties relevant to the security of persons and property at the airport as defined by the contract with Canberra Airport and Individual Airlines in accordance with the appropriate legislation.
The Aviation Security division encompasses the Domestic Terminals at Canberra Airport and special off-site contracts where screening services are required.

Position PurposeAbout the Role Canberra Airport welcomes around 40 million passengers a year and Certis Security Australia delivers a world-class experience for all passengers.
We commit to a safe environment for visitors by providing passenger and baggage screening, customer service and other security services for our client.
We are seeking suitable candidates to perform duties as Aviation Screening Officers.
Duties include:
Customer ServiceX-Ray MonitoringPhysical Bag SearchesExplosive Trace Detection (ETD)QualificationsSecurity licence (1AC) Mandatory.First Aid and CPR.CUSTOMER SERVICE experience is a MUST Certis will cover the cost of your training, including a Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (AVI20118) and 40 hours On-the-Job Training. The Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (TSP) is a nationally recognized qualification and is a requirement for all Aviation Screening Officers and is completely FREE with our Registered Training Organization (RTO 45583).
Note that to progress into a permanent position you are required to successfully complete the Certificate II in Transport Security Protection (TSP) and, at the end of your On-the-Job Training, be deemed capable of making independent screening decisions.
