We are looking for an experienced and talented individual to join our Pricing team, as we expand our actuarial and pricing function.Reporting to the Pricing Manager, you will perform actuarial calculations to assist the relevant business units in obtaining and managing a profitable business by supporting the work of the Senior Management.In this position, you will be responsible for:Knowing and applying actuarial and statistical pricing techniquesCarrying out data analysis and responsibility for specific outputsDemonstrating ability to apply reasonableness checks and sound judgment to pricing outputsAssessing the impact of pricing on key profit drivers and performance metricsDrafting pricing recommendations to be peer-reviewed by more senior actuariesEnd-to-end responsibility for rating deployment, working alongside the Pricing Implementation TeamTaking initiative to recommend changes to existing pricing processesBeing part of QBE's Modernisation journeyAbout YouYour sound knowledge and experience from a General Insurance pricing background or an Actuarial Related Tertiary qualificationExperience with SAS and Python preferred but not requiredAbility to apply a range of statistical and actuarial techniques to solve technical pricing problemsAbility to extract, analyse and interpret data from several sources and resolve complex issuesStrong communication skills, including explaining complicated concepts in a simple wayAbout QBEWe can never really predict what's around the corner, but at QBE we're asking the right questions to enable a more resilient future – helping those around us build strength and embrace change to their advantage.
