GCC undertakes Civil and Construction projects across the Groote Archipelago and has a commercial workshop for vehicles, plant, and equipment.We have an opportunity for an experienced Civil Supervisor to join the GCC team and work in the community to deliver a wide range of projects.
Reporting to the Civil Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management and delivery of current and future projects including subdivisions, stormwater, sewer, drainage, road construction and rehabilitation, bulk earthworks, landscaping, and environmental remediation works.Duties and responsibilities will include:Assist the Civil Manager and Project Manager in developing and implementing the construction program to ensure tasks are delivered accordingly.Assist with sourcing necessary resources including plant, materials, and subcontractors for the delivery of programmed works.Control and maintain daily project planning and scheduling of works to suit project programming and contractual requirements.Supervise and manage day-to-day operations including subcontractors, labourers, materials, and plant operations.Ensure compliance with project-specific management plans.Review and interpret permits, plans, and technical drawings.Provide input into variations, quotes, and future works.Maintain detailed and accurate site reports.Willing to conduct operator duties if required.Maintain professional relationships with stakeholders.Identify and document all relevant risks and hazards and follow appropriate risk management and safety procedures.Assist in the development and training of staff, particularly providing opportunities for Indigenous staff.Skills and Experience required:5+ years' experience working as a Civil Supervisor in Australia.S1, S2, S3 and Cert IV Civil (desirable).Operating experience on Dozer, Excavator, Grader, Front End Loader, and Skid Steer.Attention to detail, excellent time management, and organisational skills.Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills.Good communication skills, both written and verbal.Able to pass a full pre-employment medical.This is a FIFO role, on an 18/10 roster.
