Due to the increased demand, we are looking for a full-time Digital/ Wide Format Printing Machine Operator from the local labour market to join our busy team.
Job Description: We are looking for a skilled Printing Machinist with expertise in operating and maintaining printing machinery to deliver high-quality printed products.
This role will be critical in ensuring efficient production processes, troubleshooting equipment issues, and maintaining high colour, layout, and material consistency standards to meet client specifications.
Key Responsibilities: Preparation of machines for operation.
Collating and preparation of all orders.
Preparation of artwork for printing (i.e.
Preparing job colours for printing method (Pantone/CMYK), ensuring correct sizing variable data info, die-cut instruction).
Printing and finishing products such as photocopying, binding, laminating trimming etc.
Monitoring and adhering to strict quality standards.
Dispatching all orders – together with the dispatch manager.
Maintaining machines, and troubleshooting print errors.
Wash up of press and associated equipment.
Management & ordering of all consumables for machines.
Requirements and Qualifications: Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
Minimum AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV or higher qualifications.
3 years of experience in the role.
Good practical skills and hand-to-eye coordination.
Excellent appreciation for detail and design.
Good problem-solving skills.
The ability to concentrate for long periods.
Ability to operate a range of mechanical and computer-controlled printing machinery.
The ability to meet deadlines.
Essential Skills: Extensive knowledge of printing techniques, including offset, digital, flexographic, relief, and gravure printing.
Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting various types of printing equipment and presses.
Ability to identify and resolve technical, mechanical, or production issues efficiently.
Understanding of ink and solvent properties to blend and regulate ink flow effectively.
Ability to review and ensure all prints meet client specifications and company quality standards.
Skilled in optimising resources to reduce waste and improve productivity.
Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards related to printing operations and chemical handling.
Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with design teams, production staff, and clients.
