About the Role: The Head of People and Culture (HOPC) is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the P&C department.
This role leads organizational culture and enhances the company's reputation in the talent market, collaborating with leadership and stakeholders.
Additional responsibilities include promoting a safe workplace and providing support to teams during critical situations, such as in the warehouse.
Key Responsibilities: Strategic HR Planning: Develop HR infrastructure and strategies, focusing on retention, succession planning, workforce planning, and strategic HRM.
Organizational Development: Lead initiatives in organizational change, cultural audits, and the connection between HR practices and organizational culture.
Leadership Development: Provide departmental leadership and coaching, emphasizing emotional intelligence, executive leadership styles, and learning opportunities.
Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S): Implement regulations and legislation related to occupational health and safety.
Ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
Talent Acquisition: Manage talent acquisition processes, including candidate selection criteria, interviewing, position descriptions, and job analysis.
Conditions of Employment: Oversee contracts, probation, the MEP process, statutory safety net (NES), and volunteer management.
HR Compliance: Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, maintaining up-to-date policies and practices.
Employee Relations: Manage employee and industrial relations, ensuring effective communication and resolution of workplace issues.
Global Mobility: Oversee immigration processes (e.g., TSS Visa) and manage international HRM practices to support global talent movement.
Policy, Process, Practice (PPP) Management: Develop and enforce policies/process/practice regarding redundancy, dismissal, retirement, and other HR-related matters.
Health and Wellbeing Initiatives: Implement programs addressing stress management, absenteeism, workplace flexibility, and menopause support.
Performance Management: Manage performance evaluation processes, address underperformance and workplace conflict, and implement performance appraisal systems.
Benchmarking & Remuneration: Conduct benchmarking for remuneration and rewards, utilizing HR metrics, statistics, and employee surveys to inform decisions.
HRIS Systems & Technology Management: Oversee HRIS systems and company software, ensuring effective use and compliance with record-keeping obligations.
Team Management: Manage team performance by setting clear objectives, providing regular feedback, and supporting professional growth.
Other Duties: Fulfil any other duties as required by management.
Knowledge: Sound legal knowledge in HR Strong expertise in HR onboarding and offboarding processes Solid understanding of OH&S regulations Preferred knowledge of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) challenges Familiarity with modern slavery issues Preferred knowledge of ISO qualifications Skills and Competencies: Customer Service Focus: Commitment to exceptional service.

Work Experience: At least 5 years of experience in a similar role in any industry preferred.
