Operations Coordinator – Boorloo Country/RivervaleThe Aboriginal Family Legal Services (WA) aims to provide free, culturally secure legal support services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander victims and survivors of family violence and/or sexual assault. We are seeking an Operations Coordinator to work at our office on Boorloo Country (Rivervale).
The successful applicant will play a key role by working under the general direction of the Director Operations supporting a number of teams in their delivery of projects, events and services.
They will provide high-level procedural, administrative and operational support for AFLS.
Employment Inclusions: 5 weeks Annual Leave.Salary Sacrifice of up to $15,899.00.Free Support Services including EAP and an internal counsellor.Cultural Awareness training.Journey Cover Insurance.About the role: The Operational Coordinator will oversee and coordinate the delivery of corporate, administrative and support services.
This position will review, develop and implement administrative systems, processes and policies and procedures.
Be responsible for the management of the Corporate Administration Support Officers and overall service delivery of the Corporate office.
Work closely with other program managers to ensure effective collaboration.
This position will ensure that the office is meeting all legal reporting requirements, and all service and operational delivery is prepared and executed thoroughly.
This position will need to balance competing timeframes in a high-volume work area to meet demands with critical deadlines from multiple sources and rapidly changing agendas.
This position will need to establish and maintain collaborative networks through effective communication, negotiation and issues management to support optimal service delivery.
Maintain awareness of relevant issues, policy obligations, insights, challenges and trends to recommend innovative solutions that optimise outcomes and contribute to a best practice business support function in line with organisational and government legislative frameworks.
To be considered for this position you need to meet the following criteria: ESSENTIAL Demonstrate understanding of what Family violence and/or have experience working in a legal or community organisation that provides support services in relation to family violence.Proven experience in project and risk management plans.Strong organisational and problem solving skills.Managerial experience in the sense of managing staff and using initiative to determine office needs.Demonstrate knowledge and connections of the community needs and external stakeholders.Advanced skills using office management programs, software and platforms such as Microsoft 365, Share Point and Employment Hero.Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal people.DESIRABLE Display strong initiatives in solving day-to-day problems with limited direction.Display understanding of AFLS Legal services (family law, care and protection matters, criminal injuries compensation and family violence restraining orders).ESSENTIAL ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or have a current visa to work in Australia.Current Police Clearance Certificate.Current Working with Children Check.Ability to travel when required.All employees must undergo an annual performance review with their manager.AFLS reserves the right to fill this position prior to the closing date.
