The Opportunity Cape Preston Port Company (CPPC) is seeking experienced Marine Designated Person Ashore to join our Port Operations team.
This position is a permanent fulltime role based in our Perth head office on St Georges Terrace.
Reporting to the Manager – Technical Shipping, the initial 18 months will be heavily focused on document review of the safety management system.
Following this, the role is responsible for: Oversight of the compliance, review and implementation of the Company's Safety Management Systems and ensure compliance with Australian and International Regulatory Codes and rules.Undertaking of Designated Person Ashore Role for the Companies ISM / DOC Systems.Undertaking of the Company's Security Officer Role for the Marine Fleet.The successful applicant will have: Master Class 1 certificate or Engineer Class 1 certificate.Minimum of 10 years' experience in the marine industry with sea going experience.Minimum of 5 years' as in a senior shore-based role, ideally with a safety management or compliance bias.Designated Person Ashore Qualification.Ship Security Officer Qualification.A current WA C Class (manual) Drivers Licence.Ability to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).As an employee of CPPC, we offer a range of benefits including leave benefits, personal and family benefits, education and training, salary sacrifice options, and lifestyle benefits through preferred suppliers.

About Cape Preston Port Company Cape Preston Port Company (CPPC) operates the port and marine ore delivery supply chain, on behalf of CITIC Pacific Mining.
CPM is the developer and operator of the Sino Iron project, a world class magnetite processing operation at Cape Preston, 100kms Southwest of Karratha in Western Australia.
An industrial megaproject, Sino Iron is the largest magnetite mining, processing, and export operation in Australia, shipping a premium concentrate product to overseas steel mills.
Dedicated infrastructure includes the concentrator area, port facilities, a combined-cycle gas-fired power station, desalination plant and 30km slurry pipeline.
