Clinical Advisor – Mental Health

About The Role In this newly created position, you will play a key role in shaping mental health programs in the ACT region.
This includes supporting ongoing implementation of the Initial Assessment and Referral Decision Support Tool (IAR-DST) within primary care settings.
The IAR-DST is intended to be used in conjunction with clinical judgement and provides a framework to communicate treatment needs and use a common language across the mental health sector.
You will also work alongside our Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Manager to support the delivery of Capital Health Network's mental health and suicide prevention programs and activities, enabling integration of these programs across the health system and wider ACT community.
By providing your expert clinical guidance, you will help build capacity within the primary care sector, deliver targeted training, oversee program design and implementation, and drive local mental health initiatives to achieve impactful community outcomes.
About The Team The Clinical Advisor – Mental Health will be part of the Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Team at CHN.
This team undertakes the strategic planning, design and implementation of primary mental health care and suicide prevention initiatives aimed at improving mental health outcomes in the community.
The team sits within the broader Health System Integration Team, which is responsible for coordinating projects and program areas centred around improvement and integration of the health system to actively respond to the needs of the ACT community.

This fixed term role will focus on facilitating a change process; proven experience in change and people management will be essential in supporting our organisation's goals and objectives.
Work location This position is based in our new office located at the heart of Belconnen town centre.
