Tax Accountant

Reporting to the Head of Tax and working closely with the Senior Taxation Accountant, you will provide support to the Tax team that manages all of Auto & General's taxation obligations.
You will also have the opportunity to work with the Financial Accounting team.
The role Prepare the Auto & General Group income tax and FBT returnsAssist with the preparation of monthly Business Activity Statements, payment times reporting, insurance duty returns and payroll tax returns for the Auto & General GroupAssist with the preparation of tax calculations and disclosures required for accounting purposesMaintain and update the tax fixed asset registersAssist with researching tax issues and drafting advice to the business operationsSupport the group's tax governance, by identifying tax risks and improving tax policies and procedures.What experience you'll bring Tertiary qualifications in Law or Commerce / Accounting or similar (mandatory)Have started a Masters of Tax or CA /CPA qualification (preferred)2-3 years tax experience in professional services or corporate environment (preferred)Genuine desire to gain new knowledge and develop your skillsAbility to work autonomously to meet deadlinesStrong written and verbal communication skillsPositive outlook with a team focused attitudeLocation Close to a variety of public transport and easy parking options, the Toowong office has excellent end of trip facilities (including secure bike storage and showers), outdoor spaces and plenty of modern collaborative areas to work and connect with colleagues.
