The Port and Logistics Operations Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating all logistics and operations related to port activities, including ship turnarounds and port calls.
This role involves close communication with ship agents, coordinating logistics from warehouses and suppliers, processing invoices, and ensuring smooth operational planning.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the expedition cruise/yachting industry, with a strong understanding of port and ship operations, logistics, and inventory management.Key Responsibilities:Act as the primary point of contact for ship agents, ensuring seamless communication for operational planning, ship turnarounds, and other port calls.Liaise with ships directly to coordinate and manage port operations, ensuring all activities are executed efficiently.Logistics Coordination:Coordinate logistics for the transportation of goods to and from warehouses in Australia and other countries, as well as from suppliers.
This includes managing supplies for hotel, technical, and deck departments.Oversee and ensure the timely and accurate delivery of all logistical requirements.Manage and process invoices related to port agents, bunkering, supplies, and other operational expenses, ensuring all payments are made promptly and accurately.Travel & On-Site Operations:Travel to major ports for ship visits, particularly for season kick-offs, end-of-season activities, or specific operational events.Conduct audits and inventory checks at warehouses to ensure accurate inventory management and compliance with company standards.Warehouse Management:Maintain and monitor warehouse inventories, ensuring that stock levels are accurate and that all inventory processes are followed according to company policies.Knowledge & Skills Required:Port and Ship Operations: Extensive experience in port and ship operations, with the ability to manage and coordinate activities effectively.Logistics and Transport: Strong understanding of logistics and transportation, particularly in coordinating the movement of goods from various locations.IT Skills: Proficient in MXP (MarineXpress), with experience using the platform for managing operations and logistics.Familiarity with NetSuite for financial management, including invoice processing and inventory management.Preferred Profile:Industry Experience: Previous experience in the expedition cruise or yachting industry, either shipboard or land-based, is highly desirable.Shipping Agent Background: Experience working as a shipping agent, with a deep understanding of port and ship logistics.Shipboard Chief Purser: Previous experience as a Shipboard Chief Purser would be advantageous, particularly in managing operations and logistics.Travel Requirements:Ability to travel frequently to major ports and warehouses, both domestically and internationally, as required by the role.#J-18808-Ljbffr
