The OrganisationTechnology People has been exclusively engaged to secure the appointment of a driven and passionate Cyber Security Engineer to join a large healthcare organisation in Melbourne.
The RoleReporting directly to the Head of Cyber Defence, you will be tasked with designing, implementing, maintaining, and configuring mission-critical systems.What's in the pipeline?
You will DRIVE substantial project work and the implementation of greenfield security platforms.
Key Responsibilities: Constructing and implementing technical policies and rules for XDR, firewalls, vulnerability management, email security, data loss prevention, and web security tooling.Leading POC and evaluations of new technologies and tools.Defining and assessing technical requirements, developing technical designs, and writing standard operating procedures and knowledge articles.SIEM management, defining and onboarding additional log sources, and fine-tuning rules and alarms.Analysis of endpoint, network, and application security logs, and using big data log collection and correlation tools for data analytics.Writing and tuning of IPS/IDS signatures and YARA Rules.Implementing partial or end-to-end automation of detection and incident response workflows using SOAR capabilities.Creating reports for compliance and audit requirements.Deploying and configuring security tools and applications.Regularly maintaining, patching, and remediating incidents relating to security applications.Identifying opportunities for improvement with security tools, coordinating and presenting changes to IT teams (e.g., CAB) and the wider business.About YouWe are looking for a practitioner with a minimum of 3 years of experience in Security Engineering or a SOC Analyst (with good engineering skills).
We are also open to considering a Network Engineer who has moved into cyber in the above functions in the last 1+ years.
Experience working in a (SOC) / technical infrastructure teams.Excellent problem-solving skills combined with hands-on experience resolving application and infrastructure incidents.Demonstrated understanding of MITRE ATT&CK and the Cyber Kill Chain.Strong knowledge of Cyber Security infrastructure technologies and best practices.Solid knowledge of computer networks and common protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, FTP, SSH, SSL/TLS, HTTP, etc.An understanding and application of some of the following security concepts: Vulnerability Management, Database Security, Endpoint Security, Encryption, Email Filtering, Phishing, Privileged Access Management, Next Generation Firewalls, Automation, and Orchestration Services.Experience writing technical reports.Knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python & JSON.Why would you join?- This business has cyber at the forefront and I can tell you why.- Broad role with new challenges every week.- Plenty of learning opportunities to play with different tools.- Lots of scope to flex your muscles.- Drive and Lead key projects.
