Software Development Manager - Brisbane - 12 month FTC - $200,000Opportunity to scale and transform a highly effective team within an Agile environment.Tech and Data People are working with a company who are recognised as being an employer of choice for Brisbane.
With an enviable culture and working environment, we are looking for a Software Development Manager to lead a team of Software Developers and Quality Assurance Analysts.
This role involves technical leadership with a focus on delivery management and stakeholder management.The key responsibility of this role is to lead and manage a team of software developers and testers.
This includes ensuring all developers and testers have the required tools, knowledge, and skills they need, and act in accordance with best practices and principles.
This is a hands-on technical management/leadership role with time split between delivery management, stakeholder management, software development, and supporting direct reports.Development ResponsibilitiesDeliver high-quality full-stack code that scalesInterpret requirements and develop required functionality as requestedProvide full agile development services including scoping meetings, coding, testing, and documentationProvide input and suggestions on how products can be architected using proven technologies that scaleApply high-quality engineering principles and standards, focusing on software longevity and low total cost of ownershipProvide estimates on development effort, and commit and deliver to estimated timeframes or communicate variances and issues to the relevant scrum masterWork as part of a global and cross-functional teamLeadership ResponsibilitiesManage and drive the performance of the development and quality teams.
Ensure developers have the support, knowledge, and skills requiredImplement development practices that deliver high-performance scalable products that are robust, secure, and maintainableIdentify development process improvement opportunities with a focus on development velocity and quality.
Drive change and ensure ongoing adherenceManage technical debt repayments in accordance with policy, balancing risks, maintainability, and complexityUltimate ownership of all product code, test code, and product architectureWhat we are looking for:Bachelor of Information Technology (or similar)Ruby or C# development experienceExperience developing large commercial web applications and back-ends with intimate knowledge of full-stack architectureRESTful web service design and development experienceStrong understanding of design factors leading to high-performance web applicationsStrong skills in database design, SQL query performance, and optimisationStrong unit test experienceExperience with front-end development including CSS, HTML5, JavaScript, and one of Ember, Angular, or ReactMicroservices architecture designExposure to Continuous integration via tools like Jenkins/Travis CI/similarIf you're interested in discussing this opportunity further or would like a more general chat about your career in Data, get in touch, and we can arrange a time for a discussion.#J-18808-Ljbffr
