Health, Safety & Environment (Mining, Resources & Energy)
Full time Garraway Group is an earthmoving, civil construction and mining service provider working in the agricultural, resources and construction industries Australia wide.
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Health and Safety Manager to join our Greenfield project (civil construction) team in Balranald, New South Wales.
The roster will be permanent dayshift, Monday to Friday.
This is a DIDO position and camp accommodation will be provided in Balranald.
Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures to meet industry standards.Ensure all Garraway Group employees and contractors are educated on relevant safety policies and procedures.Drive the Garraway Group EHS management system with the "Zero Harm" framework.Provide accurate and timely reports on all HSE matters to the relevant personnel.Initiate, develop, deliver and manage company training.Monitor and review the safety performance of employees to ensure compliance.Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on sites, machinery, and equipment.Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to prevent incidents.Maintain accurate safety records and incident reports.Monitor compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and industry best practices.Investigate accidents, near-misses, and unsafe behaviors, and provide recommendations for corrective action.Work closely with management and project teams to ensure the safety of all operations.Stay up-to-date with industry trends, safety technologies, and regulations.Qualifications: Proven experience as a Health and Safety Officer in mining, earth-moving, or construction industries.Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, risk management, and hazard identification.Excellent communication and leadership skills.Ability to conduct safety audits, inspections, and training sessions effectively.Knowledge of heavy equipment, mining operations, and earth-moving machinery is a plus.Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.Driver License.Construction Induction.Minimum Certificate IV in OHS.Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable).Please note that the successful candidate must successfully complete a Pre-employment Medical Assessment.
