As a proud Thiess company, MACA will provide specialist civil construction services at a greenfield copper mine in North West Queensland, located on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon People.
MACA is seeking a Safety Advisor to join our team working on this exciting new project on a 2:1 roster.
Locals in North West Queensland, including Members of the Kalkadoon community and other First Nations people, are highly encouraged to apply for this role on a BIBO basis.
Depending on the successful candidate and the candidate's location, the role can also be offered on a FIFO roster from either Townsville or Brisbane with accommodation on site.

Responsibilities: Ensuring that Company and OHS policies, statutory requirements, and other safety commitments relevant to Project Operations are established and maintained on-site with ownership and direction being provided by the site team.Provision of advice and support services to line management.Implements Project Safety and Training plans.Supporting and assisting Supervisors and workers on daily health and safety issues.Provide support, coaching and assistance in the planning of work, using a risk-based approach to all tasks.Establish, maintain and conduct audits and inspections to monitor performance and suitability of the management system.Ensure quality control of records within, and maintenance of the MACA Data System.Assist line management with the incident investigation and reporting process.Commitment, respect and compliance to safety, health, environment and cultural heritage policies, 'zero harm' objectives, health and safety initiatives, fitness for work policy and ECA vision and core values.To be successful in this role, you will possess: Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health and Safety.5+ years' experience in a site-based mining/civil/bulk earthworks construction environment.National Police Clearance.Experience delivering safety initiatives.ICAM Lead Investigator trained (desirable).Sound written and verbal communication skills.Intermediate skills using the Microsoft Office suite.What we will offer you: Health insurance benefits; knock up to 10% of your premium with BUPA, HBF or HCF.Access to salary sacrificing benefits - airport parking and novated leasing with Maxxia.Ongoing development opportunities and structured training.Access to over 350 retailer discounts - savings up to $4000 per family per yearThere are many long-term opportunities available across our business, and more on the horizon.
