Job Description Responsibilities
Run to timeslots, delivering general freight in and around the Regional, Metropolitan areas and occasionally interstate.
Travelling to various customer sites and preparing trucks to be unloaded/loaded.
Flexibility to respond to business needs at short notice.
Work Health and Safety
Securing and restraining loads in a safe manner as per operational requirements.
Performing vehicle pre-start checks.
Complete all paperwork requirements.
Perform general housekeeping of the Prime Movers / Trailers / SCT & customer premises.
Policies and Procedures
Comply with all site requirements and such other matters as may be directed by the Company.
Desired Skills and Experience Experience
Current MC Driver's license.
Singles / B-Double driving experience.
Impeccable safe driving record and commitment to creating a safe work environment.
Knowledge
Operation of a Prime Mover and trailer sets.
Transporting freight in a safe and efficient manner.
Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility.
Knowledge & experience with load restraint procedures.
Personal Qualities
Reliable and punctual.
Flexibility with start and finish times.
Reliability, Honesty & Motivation.
Strong work ethic.
Strong safety and driving focus.
Hold a passion for providing a high-level of service with a positive attitude and work collaboratively within a team.
Other important information
We reserve the right to commence recruitment proceedings prior to the stated closing date.
The successful candidate will have to undertake an Australian Federal Police check and Pre-Employment Medical (for certain roles) which will be arranged and paid for by SCT.
