About the Role:
This is a temporary Part Time ongoing position at 45.6 hours per fortnight within the Occupational Therapy department, aligned to maternity leave.
You will be part of the RCH Occupational Therapy Senior Leadership Team; providing clinical leadership and expertise for Occupational Therapy.
You will be responsible for leading a dynamic team of occupational therapists; providing coordination across the Occupational Therapy service and providing clinical care to inpatient and/or outpatient infants, children and adolescents, to support child development, maximise participation in daily activities and quality of life and facilitate appropriate discharge.
Depending on your clinical expertise, your clinical caseload may be within the neurodevelopmental and medical specialties stream or inpatient trauma and surgical stream.

• Ongoing development of clinical expertise in occupational therapy assessment and intervention in accordance with best practice

Classification for this position will range from Grade 3 Year 1, VG3 to Grade 3 Year 4, VG6 (Base salary $102,091 - $116,646 plus superannuation plus salary packaging).
Your Skills and Experience:
• Recognised graduate-entry qualification in Occupational Therapy (Bachelor, Masters or Doctorate)
• Post-graduate qualification relevant to role at Master level (or significant completion towards)
• Previous experience working in an acute tertiary hospital environment
• Previous experience specific to paediatric occupational therapy practice
About the Department:
The Occupational Therapy department is within the Division of Ambulatory Services.
We provide inpatient and outpatient services for infants, children, adolescents with a wide range of medical conditions.
Our inpatient services include General Medicine, Surgical, Trauma, Neurosciences, Neonates, Gastroenterology, Cardiology, Oncology, and Respiratory.
Outpatient services include specialist assessment clinics (autism and developmental), specialist tertiary clinics for management of neurological/neurodevelopmental and/or musculoskeletal conditions.
Our team works closely with families, carers, community services and other health care professionals to ensure the best occupational therapy outcomes for our patients.
