Burnett Community Solutions is currently seeking a Finance Officer to support Bunya Care , a distinguished disability support provider operating in Kingaroy and Toowoomba.
Bunya Care has been dedicated to enhancing the health, safety, and well-being of its participants for over four years, offering services in supported independent living, community access, and child protection.
About the Role:
We are looking for a motivated Finance Officer to join our team and provide financial support to Bunya Care through Burnett Community Solutions .
This is a part-time role with flexible scheduling across three weekdays, offering a dynamic opportunity for professional growth.
Candidates with 1-2 years of accounting experience, particularly in the disability support sector, will find this role to be a valuable career opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform bank reconciliations Record routine manual journals Reconcile all balance sheet accounts Process NDIS claims accurately and timely Implement and manage a new payroll software system Use Xero for accounting tasks and manage SharePoint folders in compliance with organizational policies Oversee accounts payable, month-end closing, and ensure accurate financial reporting Develop and maintain financial systems, processes, and controls, including general ledger structures and the chart of accounts Collaborate with internal teams at Bunya Care to support various financial and administrative tasks Candidate Profile:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (highly regarded) 5+ years of experience in finance, including general bookkeeping and payroll 2+ years of experience with NDIS funding and claims Strong knowledge of bookkeeping principles and practices Excellent attention to detail and accuracy Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Why Join Us?
