Permanent Full-Time opportunity available (9 day fortnight) Bachelor's degree, or post graduate degree, in Landscape Architecture, Recreation Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, Natural Resources Management or Horticulture LGO 6 ($93,992 - $100,333 per annum + superannuation) based on skills, qualifications and experience About the Role
This role provides technical advice, strategic guidance and forward planning support on parks and open space matters, and assists other senior staff in the provision of professional landscaping and open space advice to council and its stakeholders on issues pertaining to open space planning, design and investigations and any related general inquiries.
About You
To be successful in this role you will require:
Bachelor's degree, or post graduate degree, in Landscape Architecture, Recreation Planning, Urban and Regional Planning, Natural Resources Management or Horticulture.
Demonstrated broad range experience in the planning and investigation of landscape involving public infrastructure, especially as it relates to open spaces and streetscapes.
Project Management qualifications or experience would be highly regarded.
Technical skills as characterised by the ability to investigate, analyse, interpret and provide advice on landscape concepts, designs and open space studies, including the ability to think strategically when considering impacts on local park enhancements.
A sound knowledge of the management principles and practices of integrated land use planning, especially as it relates to landscape design and open space planning.
Well-developed arbitration, negotiation and interpersonal skills to enable the effective communication and negotiation of acceptable outcomes with stakeholders; including sound written and numeracy skills to assist in the development of technical reports, statement of landscape intents, concept plans, Master Plans, policies, open space planning strategies and correspondence.
Well-developed skills in the utilisation of relevant computer programs and software associated with open space design and presentation.
The ability to acquire a sound knowledge of council documents relating to open space matters, standard drawings, policies and procedures; relevant legislation, Australian Standards, current industry standards of practice and their application to the design and planning of open space matters, construction and maintenance of open space infrastructure.
