Business Unit: Cubic DefenseCompany Details: The Synthetic Warfare Capability Staff Officer is a key position within the Fleet Lethality organisation focused on advancing and integrating synthetic warfighting capabilities.This role directly impacts the Navy's ability to train and operate effectively within single service, joint, and international contexts by ensuring cutting-edge simulation technologies and methodologies are employed.
The position enhances interoperability with joint and allied partners, ultimately contributing to the operational readiness and strategic objectives of the RAN.The role operates with a high degree of autonomy under general direction from senior leadership.
The incumbent is expected to exercise expert judgment and initiative in fulfilling the duties, while regularly consulting with key stakeholders and reporting progress.The duties involve complex technical, operational, and strategic considerations, requiring the ability to analyse diverse inputs and develop innovative solutions.Decision-making responsibilities include shaping the RAN's synthetic training capabilities, influencing joint and allied interoperability, and ensuring the successful execution of Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) training events.The role demands the ability to balance competing priorities and align initiatives with higher-level directives and organisational goals.Job Details:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Represent Royal Australian Navy interests in single service, joint and international synthetic warfighting working groups.
Provide advice in relation to the technical development of Royal Australian Navy synthetic warfighting capability, covering evolution and interoperability with joint and allied partners.
Advise on behalf of Royal Australian Navy synthetic warfighting end users for the advancement of the provision of synthetic training.
Support the scheduling, planning and management of Live Virtual, Constructive (LVC) collective training events.
Lead the design of LVC scenarios in line with training objectives derived from higher level documentation.
Lead the development and documentation of all required constructive elements of the exercise construct including the details of domain environments, OPFOR, Neutrals and friendly forces.
Lead the EXCON elements during execution phases in support of STX training objectives.
Lead the after-action review process including the post activity report development.
Lead the review of lessons learnt and the implementation of identified exercise improvement actions.
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Research and support the development of additional LVC training opportunities.
Develop exercise administrative requirements.
Support FFGD finance functions.
BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE: Previous military experience as a Naval/RAAF Warfare Officer or equivalent.Subject matter expertise in Synthetic Warfare.Previous operational experience.Previous joint planning or execution experience.Previous experience as Observer / Trainer.Completed Command and Staff Course.CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT: Hold Australian Citizenship.Successful outcome of a National Police Check.Possess and maintain a valid security clearance to a minimum NV2 standard throughout.Worker Type: Employee
