Post-doctoral Fellow: Platelet and Thrombosis Research LabPart-time 0.4 FTE – 0.5 FTE, 2 Year Fixed Term Contract Located at the Platelet and Thrombosis Research Lab, Anzac Research Institute, Sydney Local Health District Salary Academic Level B 1 + 17% superannuation About the Opportunity The University of Sydney Medical School is the largest provider of vocational medical education in Australasia and is at the forefront of online learning for clinicians. The primary focus is to investigate the role of platelet subsets in disease pathogenesis and as potential therapeutic targets in clotting diseases, particularly within immune-mediated thrombosis.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Conduct original research independently or as part of a team, focusing on publication, conference presentations, and securing research funding.Support and expand existing research projects in the field of platelet biology and thrombosis.Maintain a research profile, including publication of book chapters, peer-reviewed journal articles, conference and/or seminar papers.Develop research collaborations and engage in translational research.Contribute to applications for competitive research grants or funding.Maintain quality, standards, and excellence in research activities and output.Provide informal mentoring and guidance to lower-level academics and supervise postgraduate research students.Carry out administrative tasks and contribute to faculty/school meetings.Contribute to a positive workplace culture.Understand and contribute to furthering the university and faculty/school strategic agenda.Communicate scholarship with industry and organize public events, seminars, and conferences.Undertake other duties as required.About You: Have a PhD in Biomedical Science with a focus on Platelet Biology.Medical degree, FRACP, FRCPA.Experience as a Haematologist.Developing a network of relationships with key academic, industry, and professional institutions.How to Apply Applications (including a cover letter, CV, and any additional supporting documentation) can be submitted via the Apply button at the top of the page.
