SS&C also services mutual fund structures in many other fund domiciles.Global Investor and Distribution Solutions (GIDS) is the business unit offering this role.

Together, we foster a supportive culture that values growth, innovation, and a commitment to excellence, offering valuable insights into the intersection of fund financial accounting and investment management.What You Will Get To Do:The Assistant Fund Accountant (Super) plays a key role in supporting the preparation and reconciliation of accounting records and financial reporting for superannuation funds.
This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards and contributes to the timely and accurate delivery of financial and regulatory APRA reporting.
Working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders including custodians and trustees, the Assistant Fund Accountant helps ensure complete and accurate financial records for several superannuation funds.This role can be based in Sydney, Brisbane or Newcastle.Perform daily custody cash flow and bank reconciliations for member transactions.Perform monthly bank and general ledger reconciliations.Process payments, refunds, accounts payable, and custodian transactions (e.g., manager fees).Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, including BAS, IAS, APRA, and annual preparation of tax component breakup for trust distributions.Investigate reconciliation differences and support month-end management reporting.Undertake control self-assessment testing and support external/internal audit assurance programs.Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures for the Fund Accounting Team.What You Will Bring:3 years of experience in Accounting and/or bookkeeping field, preferably in superannuation.Highly proficient in Excel and working with large volumes of data.Proficiency in accounting software and systems (e.g., Xero, Sage).Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Risk management: Identification of control gaps, incident management and remediation.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.RG146 or studying towards it.Recruitment ProcessScreening – 30 minutes via MS Teams with the TA Partner.1st Interview face to face with Hiring Manager.2nd Interview (If required).Offer.Why You Will Love It HereAt SS&C, we offer an exceptional array of benefits and incentives designed to ensure our employees feel valued and supported.SS&C Advantage a comprehensive reward and wellness platform.Bonus Scheme.Income protection insurance and salary continuance.Death and TPD insurance (Available through SS&C Superannuation Fund).Private Health Insurance discount.Generous Bereavement & Compassionate Leave.Primary & Secondary carers paid parental Leave.Focused on Mental Health.Employee Assistance Program (EAP).Hybrid Working Model.We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and particularly welcome applications from under-represented groups, to enable us to bring a diversity of perspectives to our thinking and conversation.
