The organisation's projects span waterway and coastal health, biodiversity, pest and weed management, sustainable agriculture, natural resource management practices, and ecosystem restoration, all while engaging with local communities.
The Role Reporting to the Program Director, the NRM Project Manager - Waterways will lead a highly skilled team to develop and execute designated projects.
This role's primary focus encompasses team leadership and development, project planning, implementation, and outcome reporting, as well as building stakeholder relationships and fostering an inclusive workplace culture.
Key Roles and Responsibilities Lead and manage the planning, resourcing, delivery, monitoring, and evaluation of the allocated sub-program to achieve NRM outcomes.Lead and manage allocated or associated staff for the respective projects and sub-programs.Lead and manage all relevant staffing matters as a part of the employment lifecycle, including but not limited to recruitment, performance management, workforce planning, and capability development.Develop and deliver major sub-program outputs and outcomes within budget and in a timely manner.Represent the organisation as a part of key sub-program operations, meetings, and events.Liaise, engage and coordinate with the Program Director, Chief Executive Officer, other Managers, and Board Directors as required.The ideal candidate for this role is a motivated, self-starting professional with excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to mentor others, foster strong partnerships, and bring exceptional program design and delivery capability.
Additionally, you will have a keen interest in achieving meaningful and sustainable natural resource management outcomes and will have an affinity for working with diverse stakeholders.

Required Skills and Proficiencies A degree in Applied Science, Natural Resource Management is highly preferred, or a related field, with a minimum of five years' experience in NRM or a similar sector.Project management expertise, including proposal development, budgeting, reporting, and contractor oversight.Experience managing staff within multi-jurisdictional teams, including workforce planning and performance evaluation.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence a diverse client base (landholders, industry groups, government, and contractors).A valid driver's license.The Rewards and Culture This organisation offers a fulfilling career path with excellent work-life balance, including flexible work arrangements, five weeks of annual leave, a $2,000 per annum professional development budget for all staff, and opportunities for career development.
