A Day in the LifeWe have an exciting role for an experienced Technician to join our diverse and collaborative Service & Repair (S&R) team based at our Huntingwood site on a permanent basis.
You will be responsible for providing technical support in areas such as operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement, or post-market development with the use of service manuals, work instructions, and defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment, or systems.
You may also be involved in handling technical data using established formulas and procedures and perform detailed service reports to help identify opportunities for improvements to optimize work processes.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned: Performs in-house servicing on a wide variety of medical devices at the S&R Workshop as per AS/NZ 3551:2012Performs maintenance, testing, and calibration of repaired medical devicesPerforms loan return testing and assists with service loan supply managementDiagnoses electrical, mechanical, software, and systems failures using established proceduresPrepares reports for analysis of product failure trends and serviceability issuesMay communicate with field-based technicians for details helpful to failure diagnostics or repair and may include direct client communication (further queries, quotes, etc.
)Performs new product testing as part of the Australian Pre-delivery inspection processRequired Knowledge and Experience: Bachelor's degree in engineering (Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical, or similar) is preferredMinimum of 4 years of relevant experience in MedTech or a similar service-related industryProven strong ability in handling varied and complex equipment troubleshooting casesProven solid knowledge and experience of systems, techniques, and procedures obtained through prior work experience or educationDemonstrated solid knowledge and understanding of AS/NZ 3551:2012 and ISO 13485:2016Quality and Patient-focused - To be able to put patient safety first by having a quality mindsetEnthusiastic & willingness to learnPositive & proactive attitudeReliable team player who also holds high accountability for own workPhysical Job RequirementsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.
