Ao6 Senior Procurement Officer

Public Sector People are pleased to be working with a Queensland State Government Department who are looking for an experienced Senior Procurement Officer to join their team on a contract basis.
$75.75 per hour plus super Brisbane Southside location with free parking on-site WFH available after first few weeks in the role Responsibilities: Strategic Procurement: Develop and implement strategic procurement plans aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with contractual obligations.
Sourcing and Negotiation: Conduct thorough market research to identify and select qualified suppliers.
Utilize advanced negotiation techniques to secure favorable terms and conditions.
Contract Management: Draft, review, and manage contracts to mitigate risks and protect the company's interests.
Supplier Performance: Monitor and evaluate supplier performance against established KPIs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
Cost Reduction: Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing, negotiation, and process optimization.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with procurement activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior procurement role within a complex organization (Experience within Queensland Health is highly regarded) Proven track record of achieving significant cost savings and operational efficiencies.
Strong negotiation skills and ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in procurement software and tools (S4/HANA is very highly regarded) Strong understanding of contract law and procurement best practices.
