We are Australian-owned with offices nationally, so our customers benefit from our local knowledge and presence.About youAs a Security Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for safeguarding the organisation's critical assets, data, and systems from cyber threats. You'll play a pivotal role in maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information by designing, implementing, and managing robust technical security measures. Your expertise ensures that the organisation remains resilient against cyberattacks, unauthorized access, and data breaches.A key requirement for this position is strong communications and customer skills to liaise with all levels of users, internal systems support staff and third-party vendors to understand, evaluate and act on cyber threats as they present. Collaboration with the Technology Operations team is critically important to ensure that all systems and support are aligned with Guild's security standards.If you were already in this role, here are some of the things you might have done last weekSecurity Operations Engineering:Manage and lead vendor to design, deploy and maintain security tools providing capabilities in email security, data loss prevention, vulnerability management, network security, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, endpoint detection and response platforms, application whitelisting, web application firewalls and web filtering.Provide technical input and perspective in project work as required.Maintain and recommend secure configuration baselines for applications, and server, network, and cloud infrastructure.Conduct IT security assessments to identify vulnerabilities.Coordinate penetration testing and red team engagements.Coordinate phishing testing activities.Management of the vulnerability scanning platform.Security Compliance and Operations:Provide support to the outsourced Managed Security Operations including ensuring appropriate monitoring and ingestion of relevant audit logs and dataCollaborate with the wider Technology team to implement security solutions tailored to the organisation's needsRemediate IT controls testing failures and audit findingsMonitor IT systems compliance with Guild's security standardsHere are some things that you will ideally have knowledge of and previously worked withHaving excellent technical knowledge of cloud, server and network infrastructure, and security best practicesDemonstrated experience in managing and implementing Identity and Access Management controlsKnowledge of cloud best practice frameworks such as the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework for Azure and the Microsoft Azure Well-Architected FrameworkGood knowledge of ITIL best practice processesGood knowledge of current trends, practices, and techniques for optimisation of systems and networksWhy us?We pride ourselves on having an inclusive and productive workplace where we treat our people and our clients with fairness, dignity and respect.We offer:An extra day of paid leave in addition to your annual leave entitlementsAccess to our Udemy subscription, for online learningOne day per month to focus on professional development or innovation activitiesEnhanced long-service leaveStaff discounts with leading retailersAn Employee Assistance Program that provides counselling and support to all staff members and their immediate familyWellbeing initiatives such as health checks and skin checksFlexible working program available to eligible staffIf you'd like to work in a company that values your effort, celebrates your success, and encourages you to achieve personal and company success, start a conversation with us or for a position description Reach out to Katrina Thorburn at ****** You'll receive an email acknowledgment after you've applied.
