Job Summary: ILM is currently hiring Creature TDs at all levels and often in multiple locations. You may not see your specific career level advertised online; through the process, you and your recruiter will work together to find the right role that combines your unique experience and career goals. We are hiring across all levels for this discipline.
Your role? As a Creature TD, you will be responsible for the creation of outstanding character and creature simulations using various software technologies. You are able to wrangle rigging and creature pipeline issues proficiently under the direction and support of your supervisors, and you have the ability to run flesh-surface, hair, rigid sim, crowd, and cloth simulations.
What will you be doing?

Provide rigging and enveloping in Maya for various vehicles, characters, and creatures
Run cloth, hair, rigid body, crowd, or muscle simulations
Troubleshoot creature pipeline issues for artists in other disciplines
Script utilities/tools/plug-ins in Maya
Participate in reviews, dailies, and department meetings as required
Mentor entry-level artists
Experience in hair sims in Houdini a plus
Special projects as necessary

To be a contributing member of this team, you will have a mix of these skills:

3 years relevant professional experience and a diploma in computer graphics, fine arts, design, or photography, or related field; OR 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of education
Experience as Maya rigger for assets in digital animation, visual effects, games, commercials
Experience running simulation shotwork
Experience in corrective sculpting
Knowledge of anatomy and enveloping
Positive attitude and team player
Good communication skills
