Your roleAs the Events Manager, you will play an essential role in delivering SEC's priorities.
You will work closely with key stakeholders and suppliers to lead the design and delivery of public, stakeholder and community events, as well as conferences and internal engagements.
You will work with senior leaders and other team members to plan and implement community events and engagements that support the SEC's investments, its work helping Victorians understand how to go electric, and its local engagement at careers events and schools to help build a renewable energy workforce.
This unique role will require travel to metropolitan and regional locations across Victoria.
The Events Manager can be based in either our Melbourne CBD office or our regional office located in Morwell.
What you will doIn this role, you will be responsible for:
Events planning and strategyDevelop and implement proactive external and internal events, including the delivery of a calendar of events that engage the public and local communities across SEC's priorities – including renewable energy projects, helping households switch to electric and supporting workforce engagement.Project managementOversee all aspects of event projects, including managing suppliers, project planning and timelines, preparing event briefings, event collateral, rostering and all elements of effective delivery.Event managementManage and deliver a broad range of events and engagements from start to finish, including conferences and forums, e.g.
large-scale industry events and expos, public engagements, community pop-ups and engagements, internal town halls, public forums, drop-in sessions and school-based activities.Event logisticsManage all logistical support including in-house support and external suppliers (e.g.
designers, printers, caterers, venue hirers, accommodation and vehicle hire).
Ensure that logistics support is in line with budgets and event requirements.Internal engagements and communicationsLead and implement internal engagements and support the delivery of key internal communications activities, aligned with SEC's overall strategy.Who you areExperiences and skills:
Must have:Your capabilities and areas of expertise that matter most for this role are:
Proven experience in a hands-on events role managing both large and small-scale events, including budgets, speaker coordination, and end-to-end event delivery.Strong project and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to manage multiple, sometimes competing priorities and work under pressure.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences and collaborate effectively across vendors, speakers, leaders, teams, and external agencies.Previous experience in managing staff or leading a team to deliver successful events.Ability to deliver and adapt to the dynamic requirements of event management.Highly Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in a related field such as marketing or events.Internal communications experience.Our empowered workforceA career with us means you'll be joining a new and vibrant 'for purpose' government-owned renewable energy company that:

This includes an initial $1 billion towards delivering 4.5 gigawatts of power through renewable energy and storage projects – the equivalent replacement capacity of coal-fired power station Loy Yang A, which is set to close in 2035.
The SEC will also play an important role in helping Victorian households to reduce their energy bills and emissions by offering simple and effective solutions to help them switch to electric.
