Join a top High-Frequency Trading firm in Sydney, managing market risks, forecasting margins, and developing risk tools.

Our client, a renowned High-Frequency Trading firm, is seeking a highly motivated individual to join their Risk team in the Sydney office.
In this role, you will be responsible for managing risk on the trading floor and supporting key risk management activities.

Responsibilities:
Analyze and report market risks for trading activities in APAC.
Prepare risk materials for senior management and the Risk Committee.
Work closely with traders to monitor risk positions and strategies.
Oversee APAC operational risk and ensure risks are tracked and reviewed.
Review and manage trading limits, breaches, and escalate issues to the Head of Risk.
Daily margin forecasting and coordination with teams on margin management.
Develop and maintain VBA/Python tools to enhance efficiency.
Track key risks and escalate exposures exceeding the firm's risk tolerance.
Analyze market trends and their impact on trading positions.
Assist in the approval process for new products and contribute to cross-team initiatives.
Handle ad-hoc reporting requests from regulators and exchanges.
Ensure strong risk management and compliance controls.
Help coordinate projects and manage team workloads.
Skills:
3-5 years in market risk, trading or research with experience in the buy-side or sell-side environments.
Solid understanding of financial products.
Proficiency in Python and VBA.
Experience in applying risk measurement techniques such as VaR, stress testing, and Expected Shortfall to trading activities.
Ability to work with large datasets and apply analytical methods to identify key risk factors.
Strong communication skills.
A degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, Finance).
