STAFF SPECIALIST ANAESTHETIST | 2 HOURS FROM MELBOURNE CBD An exciting opportunity exists for a Staff Specialist Anaesthetist to join their team.

The position will be responsible for the provision of Anaesthetic Services for patients at the Regional Hospital. This position will involve the training and supervision of medical and nursing staff as required. The aim is to ensure the delivery of anaesthetic services is consistent with the clinical governance framework and core values of the health service.
The successful applicant will participate in the on-call roster, undertaking one on-call period for every 4 lists worked. Candidates must be eligible for Fellowship with the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists and registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Applications up to full time are encouraged.
Duties: Provide anaesthetic services within credentialed privileges to patients of the health service.Co-operate with other Anaesthetists to provide on-call services on an equitable basis.Work towards the provision of best practice care to all patients.Provide clinical leadership and supervision/teaching for junior medical staff and other clinical staff.Ensure appropriate interaction and service integration with relevant services, including the Operating Theatre, Obstetric services, Critical Care services, Emergency Department, Medical & Surgical services, Nursing, and Allied Health.Participate actively in service audits, Quality Assurance and Improvement Activities, and clinical meetings.Promote and maintain appropriate standards to meet all required professional requirements and accreditation measures.Assist the Executive and senior management team in strategic and service development issues consistent with the health services Strategic Plan.Promote and develop clinical research activities within the department.The Hospital: Our client's purpose-built 298-bed teaching hospital offers a suite of medical services from its location, 2 hours' drive from Melbourne. Catering for a population of more than 260,000, the hospital treats close to 130,000 people every year in their busy Emergency Department.
The hospital provides services in the areas of aged care, cancer care, elective surgery, maternity, rehabilitation, and mental health.
The Location: Located south east of Melbourne, this major geographic and economic region covers more than 21,000 square kilometres. With its affordable property prices, reliable workforce, excellent infrastructure, and clean environment, the city has a growing population of 42,000 people.
