BP is transforming its former oil refinery in Kwinana to an integrated energy hub, where it plans to produce Biofuels and Renewable Hydrogen.
Worley is proud to be providing Engineering services to the BP Kwinana Renewable Fuels project and to contribute to a more sustainable world for a new era of Renewable Fuels.
As a Principal Lead Contract and Procurement Specialist , you will be responsible for purchasing a wide variety of engineered and non-engineered materials and equipment (and associated services) on a competitive basis as required by project or Company needs.
Broad experience, particularly in complex procurement activities typical to the engineering, construction, energy, chemical, and resources sectors is required.
Demonstrated principled leadership of others in supply chain teams with sound business ethics and consistency with Worley's Values is essential.
What you'll do Support the Contracts and Procurement manager in executing the project procurement plan and lead the supply chain end to end process.
Support the Contracts and Procurement manager in managing contractor performance, claims management, and risk management for the project.
Assist in developing project procurement strategy and implementation for project scope.
Lead and guide team members in all facets of supply chain execution for the project.
Work closely with senior project personnel, including Client representatives, demonstrating knowledge of policies and procedures as well as market knowledge and trends.
Liaise with legal representatives on complex commercial negotiations.
Responsible for all assigned activities related to the procurement of equipment, materials, and third-party contract services ensuring quality compliance of equipment, materials, and third-party services.
Input to project estimate and schedule for nominated projects and/or procurement packages.
Ensure HSE considerations are applied, where appropriate, in the Procurement and Contracts processes.
Develop and issue complex tender packages, administer tender process and receive tenders.
Undertake review of tender submissions and negotiate any exceptions to Terms and Conditions.
Prepare recommendations for award for Client and draft Contracts/Purchase Orders.
Populate and manage procurement data systems with required information.
Ensure supplier and contractor documentation is received, reviewed, and implemented to meet the contract, as appropriate.
Work with engineering, planning, project controls, construction, HSE, and quality to ensure suppliers and contractors deliver specified services on-time.
Monitor and administer contractor/supplier performance through execution; approve invoices with proper supporting documentation, conduct change negotiations, manage and negotiate claims, maintain contract files, closeout contract when completion has occurred.
Support expediting and material control through delivery and receipting of Equipment/Materials to Client facilities.
Regular interface with client's team and reporting obligations.
What you'll have Demonstrable commitment to HSE requirements in project environments.
University Degree, preferably in supply chain, law, business administration, quantity surveying/construction management, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
MCIPS/RIQS accreditation highly regarded.
Extensive contracts and procurement experience in executing major projects in an EPCM/EPC organization.
Demonstrated experience leading teams while supporting the Contracts and Procurement Manager.
Previous experience representing supply chain in project management scenarios including presenting to clients.
Demonstrated experience in developing procurement strategies and negotiating contract terms and conditions.
Ability to proactively set priorities related to complex situations having multi-project and/or organizational impact.
Effectively communicate and present complex proposals and recommendations to senior-level management and stakeholders.
Ability to persuade and influence others.
Works with self-initiated interaction with supervisor and self-initiated technical guidance.
Able to give job-related guidance to department staff as a senior advisor.
Strong understanding of processes and tools related to the field.
Able to assist others and troubleshoot issues.
Previous experience with project and procurement software systems and disciplined approach to system data (Aveva ERM, Requis, Aconex highly regarded).
