The National Academy of Professional Studies (NAPS) is currently looking to recruit the Head of School of Social Work to provide academic leadership and foster excellence in research, innovative teaching, and engagement activities to help advance the teaching, learning, and research profile of the Academy.
Skills and experience required for the role:A PhD and/or relevant work experience in the discipline of Social Work or Community Services.Evidence of being an inspirational role model for other academics seeking mentoring, guidance, advice, and support.Demonstrated experience in teaching and learning design using a range of pedagogical approaches, development and delivery of courses and programs.Demonstrated evidence of leadership and management skills to lead a team of academics as Head of School.A proven publications record.Proven leadership of research projects and leadership of research teams, including high-quality student supervision.Proven leadership in developing significant productive relationships and engagement with industry and the community.Responsibilities:Mentor and guide students and colleagues, as well as NAPS' early career academics.
This includes supporting early career academics to develop their publications profile.Oversee the Work Placement Program for the Social Work degree.Lead strategic initiatives in the NAPS School of Social Work to contribute to the achievement of the Strategic Master Plan initiatives of the Academy.Practical experience in the delivery and administration of AASW accredited courses.Lead and conduct research contributing to the research profile of the Academy.Apply a well-defined teaching philosophy and a critically reflective teaching practice that inspires student learning and cultivates a positive attitude towards teaching in the Academy.Participate in functions promoting the Department such as Open Days, graduation ceremonies, seminars, and lectures for future students.Design and develop learning activities and resources, provide assessment and feedback using a range of suitable approaches and learning environments that inspire excellence in others by providing mentorship and peer review.Represent the School of Social Work at Academic Board meetings.Participate in and contribute to Staff Induction and Academy Open Day and orientation events.Able to share the responsibility of maintaining a safe and healthy workplace in order to prevent harm to themselves and to others.Your application will include the following questions:
