Ict Security Specialist

The key duties of the position include The RoleWithin the ICT Security function, an EL 1 ICT Security Specialist is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve very complex information security work within an integrated workforce.
They will require an in-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making, and Defence's mission and policy requirements.
An EL 1 ICT Security Specialist will exercise a considerable degree of independence and perform a subject matter expert role.
They will exercise sound decision making and judgement to provide expert policy advice.
They will have in-depth knowledge of the ICT security function and are responsible for the development, implementation, compliance, and review of policies and procedures relevant to their work within that function area.
They will engage in very complex problem solving and issues management and may coordinate and perform detailed or sensitive projects that impact on strategic, political, or operational outcomes for Defence.
About our TeamEnterprise Technology Operations Branch (ETOB) delivers quality ICT services to Defence in support of military operations and corporate business.
Our purposes and activities centre on supporting ICT operations and maintaining sustainable service levels to provide an effective ICT capability for our customers.
ETOB's role in supporting Joint Capabilities Group (JCG) is integral to the ADF's role in the protection and projection of national power.
Our role will enable Chief of Joint Capabilities (CJC) and Chief Information Officer (CIO) to provide Defence users with access to a secure, reliable, and integrated information, communications, and technology environment.

Management of applications across information management, business information systems, security, and identity domains.Management the delivery of Platform Services to Defence and provide governance between the Centralised Processing Project (CP) to deliver software application hosting and data storage services.Our Ideal CandidateThe duties of an EL 1 ICT Security Specialist occupation in Defence include the following:
Lead the development and implementation of strategies and the evaluation of business outcomes to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of ICT security.Deliver risk assessments, business impact analysis, and assurance for information systems.Maintain knowledge, skills, and experience of security issues and apply to IT security risk analysis.Communicate risks of a very complex nature to managers and peers.Engage with internal and external stakeholders from other technical specialties to develop ICT security policy.Identify areas of risk and evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of Defence's approach to risk in the use of ICT.Assess and resolve identified security incidents in accordance with established procedures and recommend any required actions or policy amendments.Interpret security policy and contribute to the development of standards and guidelines. #J-18808-Ljbffr
