About the branch The Litigation and Dispute Resolution (L&DR) Branch is a team of approximately 60 legal practitioners and an additional team of 35 (approx.)
legal support staff that provide specialist legal services to a large number of government clients and departments.
About the role We have an exciting opportunity for an eager and enthusiastic Legal Assistant to join our Litigation and Dispute Resolution Branch.
The role will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support to a team of solicitors.
Responsibilities will include: Preparing, formatting and reviewing legal documentation, including correspondence and court documentsLiaising with barristers' clerks and preparing briefs for counsel, inclusive of the collation of e-briefsFiling and service of court documents via online platformsAutonomous file management - conduct of matter related tasks, monthly billing and maintaining efficient and effective electronic filesCalendar and mailbox managementSkills and experience Demonstrated experience in a similar litigation legal assistant roleAdvanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office suiteDemonstrable capability in providing high quality assistance to a team of solicitors, in a deadline driven and fast paced environmentStrong understanding of legal processes and court jurisdictions, legal terminology and an ability to conduct research using online databases and systemsSelf-starter who takes initiative with advanced skills in problem solvingExcellent attention to detail, with a commitment to service excellenceHow to apply If this sounds like the opportunity for you, apply now
