Our team Working in the Space Stakeholder and Impact Team (SSIT) within the Space Division provides an opportunity to help solve Australia's biggest challenges.
Be part of the mission to leverage world-class Earth observations from space to drive positive change across various sectors.
The role The Director, Space Stakeholders and Impact, is responsible for fostering strong relationships and driving impactful outcomes for SSIT through strategic engagement with stakeholders and end users of Earth observation capabilities across national and international contexts.
In this role you will: Foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, understanding their needs and developing effective engagement strategies to advance the Space Division's national and global reach and impact.Provide strategic leadership through planning, budgeting, and execution to ensure the Space Division's activities align with organisational goals, stakeholder priorities, and deliver on strategic objectives.Represent Geoscience Australia at national and international forums and conferences, building relationships with key stakeholders to achieve maximum impact by aligning initiative with stakeholder priorities and delivering outcomes.Provide strategic focus to policy research and analysis to identify opportunities to support the delivery of key Australian Government policy agendas.Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies that align Space Division's initiatives with stakeholder and end-user needs thereby ensuring tangible benefits realisation and enhancing impact and benefits realisation.Create a positive and high-performing team environment, providing leadership, mentorship, and support.Adhere to the APS Values and Code of Conduct and consistently behave in an honest, ethical and professional manner.Required skills, knowledge, experience and/or qualifications Proven experience working within government to support policy and program design and delivery.Proven ability to foster and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders and international partners.Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and communications within the space and Earth observation sector or a relevant field.Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to adapt to various audiences and convey complex ideas clearly.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.Demonstrated ability to think strategically, solve problems, and work efficiently in a dynamic environment.Proven ability to lead and motivate teams, build strong relationships, and influence key stakeholders.An understanding of Earth Science, Earth Observation and/or project management is desirable.To ApplyPlease visit the careers page of our website to submit your application via our e-Recruit system.
