The Gig As our Commis Chef, you'll be cooking up a storm, lovingly preparing each and every dish for our guests using locally sourced and seasonal produce.
This is a Casual role and will require flexibility in your availability.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Take control of the breakfast / lunch / dinner service and ensure guests receive a truly delicious and memorable experience. Setting up and cleaning down the kitchen after service. Ensure all stocks are kept under optimum conditions. Ensure all mis-en-place is always freshly prepared and on time. Ensure all dishes are being prepared to the correct recipe and to the correct quantity. Ensure the department is operated within the appropriate legislation and the appropriate records are maintained up-to-date. Ensure any anticipated issues are communicated promptly to the Head Chef. Ensure all staff under your control are treated fairly and with courtesy. Ensuring and controlling levels of guest satisfaction, quality, operating and food costs on an ongoing basis. Collect feedback from the guest and report to Executive chef on any complaints or issues. Monitor that the production, preparation and presentation of food are of the highest quality at all times. Personal grooming and appearance standards are met regarding cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene. Assist with producing menus and new dishes. Actively share ideas, opinions and suggestions in daily shift briefings. About you At Ovolo, we are all about YOU.

As our Commis Chef, you will thrive on the pressure of the Kitchen, understanding that mise en place and teamwork are key to a successful service.
And continuously strive for perfection in every dish, always assuring consistency and balance.
You will ideally have 1-2 years work experience at a Commis Chef level, looking to take the next step in your career.
