WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOROur Emergency Management Department is currently seeking experienced, proactive & adaptable Emergency Service Officers to join our expanding teams across the Central & Southern Queensland regions.
Ideal applicants will have exposure to the coal mining industry and experience in emergency response services, with proven operational experience in a Fire & Rescue Service regarded highly.
Applicants are required to possess a high level of communication skills along with computer literacy & problem solving abilities, and the capacity to work both autonomously and within a team.Successful applicants must be based in Queensland, Australia.MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREDTo be eligible for these positions you must hold:Standard 11 InductionOpen Manual MR Licence or aboveCurrent CPR & First Aid – HLTAID009, HLTAID011, HLTAID014, HLTAID015HLTPAT005 – Collect Specimens for Drugs of Abuse TestingUETDRMP007 – Perform rescue from a live low voltage panelNational Police Certificate (Issued within last 12 months)Certificate 3 in Emergency Response & Rescue, including the following units:PUAFIR207 – Operate Breathing Apparatus Open CircuitPUAFIR210 – Prevent InjuryPUAFIR316 – Identify, Detect and Monitor Hazardous Materials at an IncidentPUAFIR324 – Render Hazardous Materials Incidents SafePUASAR022 – Participate in a Rescue OperationPUASAR024 – Undertake Road Crash RescuePUASAR025 – Undertake Confined Space RescuePUASAR032 – Undertake Vertical RescueRIIERR201E – Conduct Fire Team OperationsPUAEQU001 – Prepare, Maintain and Test Response Equipment, OR PMAWHS211 – Prepare Equipment for Emergency ResponseAt Mining Skills Australia, we may also accept evidence of the above units of competency separate to the Certificate 3 in Emergency Response & Rescue.BENEFICIAL & DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONSCoal Board Medical (Rescue)Construction Industry White CardPUAEME008 – Provide Pain ManagementRIIVEH201 – Operate Light Vehicle OR RIIVEH305 – Operate & Maintain 4WDCertificate 4 in Training & AssessmentWorkplace Health & Safety QualificationsCurrent Site Training TranscriptsWHAT'S ON OFFERPermanent & Casual contracts available with excellent rates of pay.7 on-7 off roster with day and night shift rotations, and 12 or 12.5 hour shifts.Coal Long Service Leave Scheme for all employees.Positions available across various sites and team compositions.Residential positions for local staff, plus DIDO & FIFO options.
