You Are:
UST is looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer with NodeJS and React who will interpret the application, feature, and component designs to develop the same in accordance with specifications.
The opportunity:
Code, debug, test, document and communicate product, component and feature development stages.
Validate results with user representatives, integrating and commissioning the overall solution.
Select and create appropriate technical options for development such as reusing, improving or reconfiguration of existing components while creating own solutions for new contexts.
Optimize efficiency, cost and quality.
Influence and improve customer satisfaction.
Influence and improve employee engagement within the project teams.
This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Other relevant essential functions may be required.
What you need:
Proficiency in multiple tools of the full stack covering frontend frameworks, databases and deployments.
Proficiency in a variety of general programming languages.
Proficiency in Test-Driven Development.
Experience with a variety of database technologies.
Proficiency in containerization.
Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new technologies.
Demonstrated ability to lead small teams or projects.
Advanced ability to solve complex problems, drawing upon creativity, experience, and multiple sources of information.
Advanced communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex or difficult information.
Insurance and/or reinsurance industry knowledge.
Experience with AWS, GCP or other cloud provider.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
10+ years of software development experience.
Master's degree and/or LOMA certification.
Strong working experience with JavaScript and modern libraries, ideally Node.js, React, React Native and HTML/CSS.
Proficiency with RDS (such as PostgreSQL).
Proficiency with test automation: Experience with writing unit and regression testing.
Proficiency with container architectures and infrastructure-as-code principles.
Proficiency with cloud-native stack, built on AWS.
Familiarity or willingness to learn reporting tools like Tableau.
Familiarity or willingness to learn and work with Alteryx reporting workflow creation process.
Proficiency with DevOps and Automation frameworks/tools like Git, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform and Docker.
Knowledge of modern application development, best practices and design patterns.
