About the role We are seeking a Lead Mechanical Designer to join our Perth based team.
The role is offered on a full-time permanent basis.
Reporting to the Drawing Office Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the detailed design process of mechanical components and systems across a variety of mineral processing projects.
Lead and manage a team of mechanical designers in the detailed design phase of engineering projects.Collaborate with cross functional teams including engineers, project managers and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.Develop detailed design plans, schedules, and resource allocations to meet project milestones and deliverables.Conduct thorough analysis and evaluation of mechanical designs to ensure compliance with technical specifications, industry standards and regulatory requirements.Utilise CAD software to create 2D and 3D models, assemblies and drawings of mechanical components and systems.Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.Demonstrate exceptional inter-discipline collaboration to facilitate the review and approval of design documentation, drawings and specifications for accuracy and adherence to project requirements.Identity and mitigate risks and challenges through proactive problem solving and innovative solutions.Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and client presentations to communicate project progress, findings, and recommendationsAbout you Certificate III Engineering or related qualification - Desirable10+ years' experience working in an engineering detailed design environment5+ years' experience in a leadership or supervisory roleInnovative thinker with a solution focused approach to problemsProficiency with Microstation – AdvantageousExcellent attitude, team focus and commitment towards safetyWell-developed communication (written and verbal) and organisational skillsValid rights to work in AustraliaHere at DRA, we offer Competitive and above market salary packages with regular market analysisA fresh & modern office in the Perth CBD with access to end of trip facilitiesFlexible start and finish times allowing for great work life balanceAccess to salary packaging benefitsA great social committee offering a range of social events and well-being activitiesAn inclusive, collaborative and supportive team environment providing you with the tools to succeedThe opportunity to work alongside engineering and design excellence supporting you with their expertise and mentorship, allowing for professional growth and career development.We value diversity and the benefits it brings to achieving our objectives, enhancing our reputation, and attracting, engaging, and retaining talented people.
