This position will initially be offered on a non-ongoing basis for up to 12 months and future vacancies on an Ongoing or Non-ongoing basis.
Merit List/Pools and How They Will Be Used Applicants suitable for the role but not offered the position for the current vacancy may be placed in a merit list or pool.
If the applicant agrees, the results may be shared with other Australian Public Service (APS) agencies for filling similar roles.
Applicants may be offered a future role without the need to reapply.

This merit list/pool may be used to fill other vacancies anywhere in Australia.
Position Overview The role sits within the Web, Multimedia and Design team and supports the Communication teams in delivering communication campaign activities through core platforms, and the entire agency in the delivery of its objectives.
The role will focus on optimising the agency's SharePoint intranet, ensuring it serves as a central hub for information, collaboration and communication.
You will be responsible for the technical configuration, administration, support and ongoing improvement of the intranet's structure and functionality.
You will also be responsible for overseeing both internal and external IP Right business manuals built on SharePoint to ensure the platform meets its objectives, implement improvements, assist content authors and manage releases.
The Key Duties of the Position Include: Demonstrated experience in managing, designing and optimising SharePoint Online sites including an intranet.
Experience with SharePoint lists, term store, libraries, web parts and permissions.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and testing experience.
Experience managing and troubleshooting workflows with Power Automate.
Understanding of the suite of applications within M365 and their integration with SharePoint.
Ability to identify and manage custom solutions whilst working with an external vendor.
Understanding of website front-end technology.
Strong understanding of current SharePoint features and the M365 roadmap including how to implement new features across various sites.
Ability to provide training and support to users and content authors.
Demonstrated strong relationship management skills, including the ability to work in small teams and across the organisation.
Knowledge of and experience in web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG compliance).
Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, organise work tasks and meet deadlines.
Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).

The successful candidate/s may be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance at a specified clearance level – please check the candidate kit for security clearance requirements.
Notes We are looking to fill this position on a non-ongoing basis initially.
Future positions may be offered on an ongoing or non-ongoing basis subject to operational requirements.
Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for a specified term of up to 12 months initially with the possibility of extension.
At the end of the recruitment process, a merit pool of suitable candidates may be created.
Those found suitable will be advised that they have been placed in the pool.
The merit pool is valid for 18 months from the date the process was advertised.
The merit pool may be used throughout the period to fill similar positions in the event positions become vacant.

We have a shared hub in Sydney (Gadigal Country).
Employees who are not located near an office work completely remotely.
