As we continue to expand our team, we're looking for a Senior Financial Accountant whose expertise will contribute to driving financial accuracy and efficiency while challenging the status quo.
This role will play a pivotal role in managing the end-to-end financial accounting process, ensuring the integrity of financial statements, and delivering reports with accuracy and efficiencies aligned to deadlines.
Provide leadership to a small team in a positive and collaborative team environment while supporting junior staff's growth and development.

This office-based role is in Rocklea, operating 5 days per week (Monday through Friday).

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
End-of-Month Process : Drive the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all financial reconciliations and reports.
Reporting Pack : Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial reporting packs by providing meaningful insight.
Monthly BAS : Manage the preparation and submission of monthly Business Activity Statements (BAS) in compliance with tax regulations.
Liaison with Auditors & Tax Agent : Act as the primary contact for external auditors and tax agents, ensuring timely audits, tax compliance, and the preparation of statutory financial statements.
Payroll : Manage head office payroll, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
Budgeting: Assist with the annual budgeting process, working closely with the cross-functional team.
Leadership : Provide leadership and mentoring to junior finance staff, supporting their professional growth and fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
Challenge the Status Quo : Challenge existing processes and introduce innovative solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the financial accounting function.
What Will Make You Successful in This Role Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Experience : A minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience as a financial accountant, with a strong background in accounting, financial reporting, and process improvements.
Qualifications : CPA/CA qualified, with a good understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
Leadership : Experience in leading a small team, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with stakeholders.
Technical Skills : High level of proficiency in accounting software and Excel.
Communication : Strong communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Problem-Solving : A proactive approach to identifying challenges and developing solutions that drive efficiencies and improve the overall financial function.
