Situated in the north of WA and with many mining operations within its boundaries, this Shire services a number of towns and is also the gateway to several remote Aboriginal communities.
This position will play a pivotal role in guiding the Shire to deal with considerable growth and to continue to lead the financial sustainability of the organisation.
As a key member of the Shire's Executive Team, the Director Corporate Services is accountable to the Chief Executive Officer for the delivery of efficient and effective services, spanning finance, administration, records, IT, risk management, and corporate business planning.
Your responsibilities include:
Management of finances of Council including the timely and accurate preparation of budgets, annual statements, information returns, and any other statutory requirements.
Providing leadership and direction across the Directorate to ensure strategic direction, objectives and actions are achieved.
Creating a culture of achievement, collaboration and respectful relationships where people are encouraged to excel by setting stretch targets and are supported to challenge the status quo through actively seeking opportunities for improvement.
To be successful in this key leadership position, you will be tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline and demonstrate extensive management experience in a similar business capacity within a multi-disciplinary environment.
You will possess:
Excellent knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory processes.
Strong financial management and stakeholder relationship skills.
Ability to negotiate effectively at high levels.
Strong customer focus and ability to positively drive change.
Political awareness and substantial team management experience.
If appointed to this position, you will be rewarded with a base salary of $187,139 to $203,096, superannuation, motor vehicle, relocation costs and subsidised housing.
