An opportunity exists to join one of South Australia's leading not-for-profits, providing strategic governance advice as a Director of the Uniting Communities Board.
We are pleased to offer the opportunity to make a difference and welcome applications for the role of a Board Director.
Drawing on the knowledge, expertise, and insights of those who work directly in the community, this role works alongside other Directors to harness resources, articulate organisational priorities, as well as ensure the integrity and accountability of Uniting Communities.
As our organisation drives innovative solutions to age-old problems, you'll play a crucial role in directing key projects, including major new property developments and empowering our staff and volunteers to create systemic change.
As our new Director , you'll be shaping the direction of our organisation and sharing the incredible work we do across South Australia.

The Candidates First and foremost, you'll bring strong relationship-building skills to our Board.
With a focus on collaborative leadership, courage, and great communication skills, you'll have the ability to work with a diverse Board membership to leverage outcomes and empower tangible change across our state.
Prospective applicants with strong and sustainable networks across the South Australian business, philanthropic, human services, or private sectors would be well regarded.
Working closely with the Chief Executive and other key stakeholders, you'll have a genuine interest in the life-changing work of Uniting Communities and possess a passion for the future of the organisation.
You won't be afraid to be candid yet respectful and have an appetite for innovation and new ideas.
In this role, your previous experience of corporate governance and board experience will place you in excellent stead to safeguard the integrity of the organisation and ensure it meets all its obligations.
Understanding the role and scope of governance in a not-for-profit organisation is essential.
Ideally, you will have a working knowledge of the South Australian human services landscape and emerging service delivery trends; however, for the right candidate, an eagerness to learn about our sector will be equally regarded.
We particularly welcome applications from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, younger people, and those with lived experience relevant to our services.
Time Commitment As Board Director , attendance at monthly Board meetings is required, in addition to any related participation and representation at industry, community, and internal events.
Directors will also need to diligently plan and prepare for Board meetings and be prepared to serve on one of the Board subcommittees.
In recognition of your expertise, networks, and time, the roles will receive remuneration packages in line with the Uniting Communities Board Remuneration Policy.
