Job Description As a Bell Captain, you will lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of the Bell Desk team.
You will also train and coach the team in being the best-in-class first point of contact for guests, providing exceptional service and assistance with their luggage and transportation needs.
You will play a key role in creating memorable experiences for our guests by delivering a warm and efficient service from arrival to departure.
Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging serviceEnsure all guests are greeted, acknowledged, and taken care ofAssign daily tasks and duties to the team through the dayAssign and ensure breaks are taken during each shiftPerform administrative duties as assignedAttend meetings as neededWork with group contacts to ensure a smooth and seamless conventionMain contact for room dropsMaintain and ensure department follows hotel guidelinesFollow up on all VIP transportation requestsPerform all duties of the bell attendantResponsible for the delivery to the room of Guest's luggage, messages and any other items for delivery within the HotelEngage warmly with guests whilst escorting them to their roomEnsure the timely and efficient transfer of luggage to and from the guest's roomEnsure the guest is familiar with their room upon arrival (orientation, temperature control, etc.
)Maintain a presence in the Lobby when not delivering luggage to guest rooms, offering assistance to Guests and answering questions in a helpful and informative wayProvide information and recommendations about local attractions, restaurants, and transportation optionsEnsure all guests arriving by vehicle on the front drive or departing from the hotel are assistedCoordinate with valet for outstanding arrival and departure experiencesAssist guests with storage of luggageMonitor and ensure the security of guest belongings during transportation and storageFollow safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe environment for guests and colleaguesLiaise with Front Office, Housekeeping, and other departments to fulfill guest requests promptlyMaintain effective communication with colleagues to ensure seamless guest experiencesMaintain accurate records of stored luggage and ensure security protocols are followedEnsure that all areas of responsibility are kept neat and clean for our guests and colleaguesA knowledge of hotel services, activities, and hours of operations is required to ensure timeliness of customer needs, which would be outlined each day in a pre-shift briefingFollow all hotel and Forbes / LQA standards of serviceConduct self-audits and participate in the feedback of audits conducted to improve service levelsHandle guest concerns and provide assistance and resolutionProudly be an ambassador of the property and the Fairmont brandMaintain regular and predictable attendanceOther duties as assignedQualifications Previous experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry requiredPrevious customer related experience requiredHigh School graduate or equivalent requiredStrong customer service skills with a friendly and outgoing personalityExcellent communication skills and a professional presentationStrong interpersonal and problem-solving abilitiesHighly responsible & reliableKnowledge of local attractions, restaurants, activities, and transportation options is an advantageAbility to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environmentAbility to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team and under minimal supervisionAbility to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all timesMust have ability to communicate well both verbally and writtenReading and counting is essentialAvailable to work shifts which include mornings, evenings, overnight, weekends, and holidaysAdditional Information What is in it for you : Wage: USD $24.00Discounted hotel rooms and food & beverage rates to employees at our sister properties around the globeWe provide learning programs through our Academies to promote growth and development so that you can perform at your full potentialOpportunity to develop your talent and grow within your property and across the worldAbility to make a difference through our Corporate Social Responsibility activities, like Planet 21 and WATCHAccor is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer EOE / M / F / V / D.
