The Purpose of this role is to:
Support the implementation of the Integrated Monthly Mine Plan including the mine schedules, mine planning and development projects, conformance to plan measurement for each month, and any resulting actions.Assist in monitoring the mining contractor and the review, improvement, and conformance of the contractors' plans and support with commercial clarification and information.Provide support to the Integrated Quarterly Planning, Life of Mine Planning, and reporting for Mt Holland.This role is a permanent, full-time, FIFO opportunity on an 8:6 roster from Perth to our Mt Holland mine site. Key Responsibilities: Health, Safety, Environment and Community
Participate in the establishment of an inclusive and successful health and safety culture in Mine Tech Services and at Mt Holland.
Undertake all work in a safe and efficient manner, in accordance with statutory requirements, all approvals, and Covalent policies & procedures.
Comply with all health and safety, environmental, and regulatory policies relating to the project and ensure a safe working environment.
Ensure all health, safety, and environmental incidents are reported.Technical/Functional/Role
Complete the integrated monthly planning for Mt Holland, including coordinating all inputs and assumptions (operational and maintenance) and leading the pre-planning meeting.
Complete the plan and all reporting and roll the plan out to the business.
Ensure compliance to plans is measured and reported with improvements and actions as needed.
Assist in the completion of the Integrated Quarterly Planning and preparation of annual budget plans.
Assist in reporting of all site activities including ensuring reports and measurements to budgets and forecasts are included.
Ensure compliance to all approval's commitments and all approvals and reporting requirements are addressed in a timely way.
Provide technical input to the mine operations, including mine planning, progress reporting, design, and contractor management.
Participate in reviews and understand the LOM and expansion study project.
Drive safe mining operation philosophy and performance.
Help guide the mining operations to ensure the most appropriate mining methodology.
Assist with QA/QC of drill and blast.
Assist with Geotechnical data preparation.
Mine infrastructure and landform design.
Participate in blastmaster workshops.Financial/Budget
Provide input into relevant budget and expenditure.
Ensure compliance with budget and expenditure protocols and procedures.
Participate in monthly Contractor claim evaluation and approval, provide support to any variation requests.
Create purchase requisitions and review invoices against scope of work.
Report Monthly with standard budget and variance reports accompanied by progress reports and descriptions.Leadership and Team
Ensure effective working relationships are built and maintained with other departments and stakeholders, both internal and external.
Support and coach team members.
Encourage peers and other Covalent personnel to successfully achieve individual, departmental, and company objectives.
Support team members to manage priorities, workloads, planning, expectations, and performance.Role Requirements: 2-5 years' experience in open pit, hard rock mining operations and mine planning, preferably with lithium exposure.Degree Qualified in Mining Engineering or equivalent.Drill and blast experience.Experience managing complex mining contracts.Mine software skills, including experience with mining related software in particular Alastri production and tactical scheduler software and MineMax or Deswik products.A valid C Class Manual Driver's License.Unrestricted WA Quarry Managers Certificate of Competency is desirable.A competitive remuneration package commensurate with the role, candidate experience, skills, and qualifications will be offered.
