The Role: In this role, you will be working across projects in delivery and tender, supporting in the preparation of project capital cost estimates.
This includes the analysis of plans, specifications, proposals and other data in preparing time, cost and labor first principles estimates.
The role will also be accountable for validation and verification of estimates and quotes produced by third parties including from subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
The estimator will provide guidance to those third parties on process, format and commercial requirements.
This role will include working with the Tenders Department in the assembly and maintenance of the estimate database including benchmark rates and preparing relevant documentation for closure of the tenders.
The competencies we seek for this role are: Bachelor's degree in Building Construction, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Accounting or MathematicsDemonstrated civil and/or multi-disciplinary estimating experience in an infrastructure, construction or engineering environment.Demonstrated experience with the preparation of high-level estimates at the concept stage and more detailed estimates during the procurement stage with proven "first principle" estimating competenceAdvanced knowledge of estimating techniques and software and extensive experience in both deterministic and probabilistic estimationStrong technical expertise in interpreting engineering/construction drawings and plans.
