Management Accountant

Join the dynamic and dedicated team within the 'Treasury and external Budgeting' division of a leading NSW State Government Department.
Our client is committed to maintaining financial excellence and providing strategic support that drives decision-making across the organisation.
As a Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting financial goals and ensuring the department adheres to robust financial policies and standards.
Key Responsibilities: Take a proactive approach in managing day-to-day financial operations, including data modeling, budgeting, and forecasting, ensuring accuracy and alignment with organisational goals.
Work closely with the team on external budgeting processes, consolidating financial data, and preparing detailed reports for executive leadership.
Assist in the preparation and delivery of monthly financial reports, including variance analysis, and ensure timely and accurate submission of financial data.
Manage the review and reconciliation of journals, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and resolving any discrepancies.
Leverage advanced systems knowledge in Prime, SAP, PowerBI, Power Privics, and Excel to streamline financial processes and improve data accuracy and reporting capabilities.
Contribute to the development and execution of the organisation's financial strategy, providing insights and analysis that support long-term financial planning and decision-making.
About You: Must Have: CA/CPA Qualification.
Proven experience in Management Accounting, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Experience working in large, complex organisations is highly regarded.
Proficiency in financial systems and tools, such as SAP, is preferred.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
