The OpportunityThere is currently 1 permanent, full-time position available for immediate filling in the Professional Standards directorate.The directorate is responsible for implementing integrity and governance improvements, investigating misconduct reports, supporting significant WA Corruption and Crime Commission investigations, and establishing proactive assurance programs.Our dynamic and high-performing team is now seeking a passionate individual to lead and manage the monitoring of standards and client service delivery, provide advice to senior staff, and manage the Unit's resources in accordance with the Department's strategy, values, and policies.
As our Manager Standards and Monitoring Unit (Professional Standards) you will be responsible for:
Managing the design, development, and implementation of policies, practices and change initiatives to focus on improved outcomes for children in care, through the monitoring processes.Maintaining contemporary knowledge and understanding of monitoring and assurance processes to deliver high quality assessments to the Department about child protection services that are being delivered to children, families, and the community.Leading and managing the development of plans and strategies, in accordance with strategic and risk management objectives.Providing relevant, quality, and timely advice to relevant senior staff and the sector on matters arising from the monitoring of the child focused standards.Leading, managing and facilitating with departmental management and staff to improve the development and monitoring of child protection service delivery standards and reporting processes.Liaising with staff and external stakeholders to gather and/or communicate information regarding the monitoring of standards, that is consistent with Departmental communication strategies.To be successful in this role, you will combine your tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or a relevant human service area, with high level leadership to achieve the Department's organisational outcomes.
You will also have demonstrated relevant experience in leading assurance and compliance activity against standards, principles, frameworks, and knowledge of service delivery practices.You will have extensive experience in communicating and presenting risk and outcomes articulately to a range of internal and external stakeholders, as well as the ability to manage stakeholders, maintaining a commitment to quality customer service principles.
