About the role We have exciting opportunities available for experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our team across the various departments at Queensland Alumina Limited (QAL).

As a team member at QAL, you will contribute to our Safe, Stable and Sustainable vision by:
Ensuring all work is performed in accordance with site health, environmental and community policies, systems and proceduresCompleting planned and breakdown maintenance on pumps, pipework, valves, conveyors, mills, turbines and associated equipment including overhauls, installations and assembly change-outsDiagnosing and recommending repair methodsMonitoring, isolating, commissioning and performing preventative maintenance and conducting operational activitiesIdentifying, developing and implementing improvements relating to the plant equipment, work processes and practicesEffectively communicating with section stakeholders and peers to safely achieve maximum productivity of a high standardAbout you To be successfully considered for this role, you should have:
Demonstrated ability to safely work as an individual and within a team environmentTrade qualifications as a Mechanical Fitter & Turner Willingness to learn new skillsForklift, dogging and rigging tickets would be advantageousDemonstrated experience in fixed plant maintenanceAbility to make sound judgments to ensure plant integrity is maintained at all timesDemonstrated ability to function effectively as part of a team and to autonomously manage your workloadA commitment to continuous improvement by identifying process and cost saving initiativesWhat's on offer We know there are many aspects of our employees' lives that are important, and work is only one of these, so we offer benefits to enable your work to fit with your life.
