About the role:
Reporting to the Senior Manager Health and Safety, the Senior Safety Specialist will coordinate the outputs of Parks Victoria's Safety Advisors. In this role you will have the opportunity to lead the design, development and implementation of organisation-wide safety improvement programmes. You will be a detail-oriented and driven professional with the ability to conduct detailed analyses of incident, near miss and injury data to inform injury and risk reduction initiatives, as well as lead the development of systematised safety performance reporting. This role will also be responsible for the design of a health and safety component of the HSE Management System.
We're looking for someone with:
A tertiary qualification (Diploma or higher) in occupational health and safety is essential
Extensive professional experience in managing the Occupational Health and Safety function within a large, multi-site operational setting
Excellent oral communication skills, together with good interpersonal skills, particularly the ability to liaise effectively with all levels of staff
Strong written communication and document development skills and a high level of computer literacy including a good understanding of data management and reporting software
Experience in managing psychosocial risk in public-facing operational working environments would be beneficial
